ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum
ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum is a daily clarifying and brightening serum that targets breakouts, post-acne marks, uneven tone, and persistent redness all at once, without stripping or sensitizing skin. Ten percent azelaic acid paired with gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid, delivers consistent results that are effective enough to see a difference and gentle enough to use every night. The formula is fragrance-free.
Key Benefits
Clears breakouts and reduces congestion Azelaic acid at 10% normalizes how skin cells shed inside the pore, reducing the buildup that leads to breakouts and keeping pores clearer over time.
Fades dark spots and post-acne marks Azelaic acid inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that triggers excess melanin, while hexylresorcinol, phyllanthus emblica extract, and glycyrrhiza glabra root extract work alongside it to visibly even out discoloration from multiple angles.
Calms redness without compromising results Pichia/resveratrol ferment extract, cucumis sativus extract, and camellia sinensis leaf extract provide antioxidant and skin-calming support so the skin barrier stays comfortable while the actives do their job.
Exfoliates texture gently at the surface Gluconolactone, a PHA with a larger molecular size than traditional AHAs, refines texture and smoothness gradually without the redness or stinging associated with stronger exfoliants, making it suitable for sensitive and reactive skin.
Supports a healthy skin barrier Simmondsia chinensis seed oil, rubus idaeus seed oil, and tocopherol contribute fatty acids and antioxidant protection that reinforce the skin barrier while the active ingredients work.
In a 12-week consumer study:
- 100% Noticed less clogged pores and spots
- 91% Felt softer and more firm skin
- 100% Observed the appearance of a more even skin tone
- 100% Noticed a reduction in the appearance of lines
If your skin deals with a combination of concerns at the same time, breakouts alongside dark spots, rough texture alongside redness, this serum is built for that overlap. It is especially well-suited for those who have tried stronger acids and found them too irritating, because gluconolactone keeps exfoliation effective while significantly reducing the risk of sensitivity.
This serum works for oily, combination, acne-prone, and redness-prone skin types. It is also a strong daily option for anyone managing mild to moderate hyperpigmentation or melasma who wants a gentler azelaic acid treatment they can rely on long-term.
If your skin leans sensitive but you still want active results, the fragrance-free, barrier-supportive formulation makes this a dependable nightly option without the need to ease in slowly or take breaks.
If your skin is oily, the serum's creamy texture provides enough moisture on its own that you can use it as your final evening step and skip a separate moisturizer entirely.
Prepare: Cleanse and tone your skin first, then allow it to dry completely before applying.
Apply: Dispense one pump and apply to the face, neck, and chest.
Technique: Press and smooth the serum evenly across the skin and allow it to absorb fully before the next step.
Frequency: Use in the evening. Apply broad-spectrum SPF every morning while this serum is part of your routine.
- Azelaic Acid: Gently clears pores of bacteria while diminishing hyperpigmentation by reducing melanin production and calming inflammation.
- Hexylresorcinol: A powerful brightening agent with antioxidant and astringent properties to neutralize free radicals and even skin tone while strengthening the skin barrier.
- Gluconolactone (PHA): A mild exfoliating acid that gently smooths the skin while attracting and holding moisture. PHA helps improve texture and clarity without stripping the skin, making it especially well suited for dry, sensitive, or compromised skin.
- Kakadu Plum Extract: Potent Australian superfruit extract that enhances collagen and hyaluronic acid production for improved elasticity.
- Resveratrol: A potent antioxidant that smooths wrinkles, boosts elasticity, and defends against environmental stressors with anti-inflammatory properties as well.
- Licorice Root Extract: Brightening and anti-inflammatory agent that balances skin tone and helps inhibit hyperpigmentation.

What does the 10% azelaic acid in ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum actually do for skin?
Azelaic acid at 10% works on several levels at once. It normalizes how skin cells shed inside the pore, reducing the congestion that leads to breakouts, while also inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for excess melanin production, which makes it effective for fading post-acne marks and uneven tone. It also carries well-documented anti-inflammatory properties, making it particularly useful for skin that is both breakout-prone and prone to redness at the same time.
What is a PHA and how does gluconolactone in ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum differ from an AHA?
PHAs, or polyhydroxy acids, are a newer generation of chemical exfoliants with a larger molecular size than AHAs like glycolic acid. Because gluconolactone cannot penetrate as deeply or as quickly, it exfoliates the surface more gradually, causing significantly less irritation and making it well-suited for sensitive and reactive skin types. You still get improved texture, smoothness, and clarity, just with a much lower risk of redness or stinging.
Can ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum be used on sensitive or redness-prone skin?
Yes, the formulation is built with sensitive and redness-prone skin in mind. The choice of gluconolactone over a stronger AHA significantly reduces the likelihood of irritation, and ingredients like pichia/resveratrol ferment extract, cucumis sativus extract, and camellia sinensis leaf extract provide additional calming and antioxidant support to keep the skin barrier comfortable while the actives work.
How does ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum help with dark spots and hyperpigmentation?
The serum addresses discoloration through multiple pathways simultaneously. Azelaic acid inhibits overproduction of melanin at the source, while hexylresorcinol, a potent brightening ingredient shown in some comparative studies to outperform kojic acid in reducing the appearance of dark spots, adds another targeted layer. Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract and phyllanthus emblica extract contribute further brightening and antioxidant support to help even out tone consistently over time.
Is ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum safe to use every day?
It is formulated for daily evening use. The combination of 10% azelaic acid with gluconolactone, rather than a harsher exfoliant like glycolic or lactic acid, makes it suitable for consistent nightly application across most skin types. Because azelaic acid does increase photosensitivity, applying broad-spectrum SPF every morning is an important part of the routine.
What makes the ingredient list in ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum stand out beyond the azelaic acid?
Beyond the 10% azelaic acid and gluconolactone, the serum includes pichia/resveratrol ferment extract, a fermented form of resveratrol that delivers antioxidant and skin-calming benefits, alongside ferulic acid and tocopherol for additional antioxidant reinforcement. Simmondsia chinensis seed oil and rubus idaeus seed oil contribute fatty acids that support the skin barrier, and terminalia ferdinandiana fruit extract, one of the most concentrated natural sources of vitamin C, adds further brightening support. The entire formula is fragrance-free.
How should ANFISA ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum be layered with other actives in a routine?
Apply the serum after cleansing and toning on dry skin, then follow with a moisturizer. Because it already contains both an exfoliating acid and azelaic acid, it works best as the sole active in your evening routine rather than layered with other strong exfoliants. If you want to incorporate a retinol or retinoid, consider alternating nights until your skin has comfortably adjusted to both.

I’ve been using it consistently with 2 bottles. Possibly helping with skin tone some, acne prevention, and overall appearance. Looking for little more with hyperpigmentation. Doesn’t dry out skin. Feels okay when applied. No irritation.

I find this product stings a little bit when i put it on, but i think that just means it works. My skin tone definitely has evened out, but I’m using it with Dr. Esthe products too so it’s likely the combination of all of them. I love that AOS helps with the protocols… i would never know how to combine products for the most effective results.

This was recommended to me from my skin consultant I’ve only been using a few weeks but have noticed Ed refined pores and improvement with my hyperpigmentation/melasma. I’m able to wear less makeup which is my goal. And ZERO irritation to my acne prone skin!
