Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse is a glycolic acid-based cleanser built for skin that holds onto congestion, stays persistently oily, or has a thick, uneven texture that feels resistant to change. It works harder than a basic face wash, using a combination of active exfoliating and clarifying ingredients to clear out what daily cleansing typically leaves behind. The formula carries the natural scent of rosemary and marjoram leaf oils.
Key Benefits
Breaks down congestion and cellular buildup Glycolic acid, one of the most studied alpha hydroxy acids, dissolves the bonds that hold dead skin cells together so pores clear more easily and texture visibly smooths over time.
Reduces excess oiliness The combination of glycolic acid and rosemary leaf oil helps regulate sebum so skin stops feeling heavily oily by mid-morning.
Supports clearer skin by targeting acne-causing bacteria Rosemary leaf oil contributes natural antimicrobial properties that work alongside the exfoliating action to reduce the bacterial environment where breakouts thrive.
Refines rough, thick texture Gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid, reinforces the exfoliating effect with a gentler touch, helping skin feel smoother without stripping it of moisture.
Increases oxygenation at the pore level By clearing debris and loosening congestion, the formula allows pores to breathe more freely, which is especially beneficial for skin exposed to humid or oily environments.
-
Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse is best suited for skin that is excessively oily, noticeably thickened, or chronically congested with blackheads and clogged pores. If your skin tends to feel heavy, rough to the touch, or breaks out regularly despite consistent cleansing, this formula is designed to address that kind of buildup at the surface level.
It is also a strong fit for anyone whose skin seems to shrug off lighter cleansers without much improvement, or for those who live or work in warm, humid, or oily environments where skin congestion builds faster. Because of its potency, this cleanser may not be appropriate for daily use on all acne-prone skin types and works well when alternated with a gentler option a few times per week.
This is not the right starting point for sensitive, dry, or compromised skin. If you are unsure where Herbal AHA Cleanse fits in your routine, our estheticians are happy to help you figure that out.
-
For skin that is extremely oily and congested but reacts to strong actives, try mixing Herbal AHA Cleanse with a milder cleanser in your palm before applying. This lets you get the benefit of the glycolic acid while giving your skin time to adjust. The formula also works well applied to the chest, back, or shoulders for body breakouts.

What makes Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse different from a regular face wash?
Most cleansers are designed to remove surface dirt and oil but do not actively exfoliate or address congestion below the surface. Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse contains glycolic acid, which dissolves the bonds holding dead skin cells and debris together, and gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid that reinforces that exfoliating effect more gently. The result is a cleanse that actually changes the texture and clarity of skin over time, not just the feel of it in the moment.
How often should I use Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse?
Frequency depends on how your skin responds. For very oily, thick, and resilient skin, daily use may be well tolerated. For acne-prone skin that is also reactive, using it two to three times per week and alternating with a gentler cleanser on other days is often a smarter approach. Start with less frequent use and build from there based on how your skin feels.
Can Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse help with blackheads?
Yes. Blackheads form when sebum and dead skin cells become trapped inside pores and oxidize. Glycolic acid helps loosen that buildup so it clears more easily, and rosemary leaf oil provides antimicrobial support to reduce the bacterial environment that contributes to congestion. Consistent use over time helps pores appear smaller and stay clearer.
Is Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse safe for sensitive skin?
This formula is potent and is not designed for sensitive, dry, or compromised skin. It contains glycolic acid and essential oils, both of which can be too stimulating for reactive skin types. If your skin leans sensitive but you are dealing with congestion, we recommend reaching out to one of our estheticians for a more tailored recommendation.
Can I use Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse on my body?
Yes, Herbal AHA Cleanse can be applied to the chest, back, or shoulders where body breakouts tend to appear. The glycolic acid and antimicrobial properties of rosemary leaf oil make it effective on body acne in the same way it works on the face. Apply the same way you would on your face and rinse thoroughly.
Does Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse contain any fragrance or common irritants?
The formula does not contain added synthetic fragrance, but it does include rosemary leaf oil and marjoram leaf oil, which give it a natural herbal scent and contribute active benefits to the formula. If you are sensitive to essential oils, this is worth keeping in mind before using. The formula is also free of parabens.
What is gluconolactone and why is it in Rhonda Allison Herbal AHA Cleanse?
Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid, a gentler relative of traditional AHAs like glycolic acid. It provides a secondary layer of exfoliation while also supporting the skin's moisture barrier, which helps balance the stronger activity of glycolic acid in this formula. It is a smart addition for skin that needs significant exfoliation without being left feeling stripped.

I love this face wash! I have acne prone skin and it has helped me keep my acne at bay. I like to rub it on and let it sit for a little bit before rinsing. It keeps my pores clean and I love how a little goes a long way so the amount you get for the price is amazing!
