Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief is a concentrated healing balm built around refined shea butter and a dense network of botanical extracts designed to calm, protect, and speed recovery for skin that has been compromised by procedures, abrasions, or minor wounds. The occlusive base locks moisture in and shields raw tissue from environmental irritants, while soothing plant actives work to reduce redness, itching, and the risk of post-inflammatory scarring. A subtle hint of vanilla rounds out the formula with a light, comforting scent.
Key Benefits
Calms Irritation and Itching Centella asiatica, licorice root extract, and calendula flower extract work together to quiet inflammation and relieve the persistent itching that can slow recovery and tempt you to touch healing skin.
Shields Vulnerable Skin from Infection The occlusive shea butter base creates a physical barrier over compromised tissue while wild cherry bark extract and mandelic acid offer natural antibacterial support to help keep harmful pathogens out.
Supports Faster, Cleaner Healing Panthenol (provitamin B5) and hydrolyzed yeast protein encourage cell turnover and tissue repair, helping skin recover more efficiently and with less visible scarring.
Restores Moisture to Dry, Cracked Skin Borage seed oil delivers a concentrated dose of gamma-linolenic acid to replenish the lipid barrier, while glycerin draws hydration into the tissue so healing skin stays soft rather than tight and flaky.
Reduces the Risk of Post-Inflammatory Scarring Horse chestnut bark extract and butcher's broom root extract support healthy microcirculation in damaged tissue, helping to minimize discoloration and textural scarring as skin rebuilds.
-
If your skin is recovering from a professional peel, microneedling session, laser treatment, or any procedure that leaves the surface raw and sensitive, this balm provides the protective, soothing environment healing tissue needs.
It is equally useful outside the treatment room. Minor cuts, scrapes, cracked cuticles, wind-chapped skin, and dry surgical incision sites all benefit from its occlusive, antibacterial formula.
Ideal for anyone who wants a clean, botanically driven alternative to petroleum-based wound ointments, especially if you are acne-prone, since the shea butter is properly refined to avoid pore congestion.
-
A little goes a long way. Warm a single pump between your fingertips for a few seconds before pressing it onto the skin. The warmth softens the shea butter base so it spreads evenly without tugging, which is especially important over freshly treated or broken skin where friction can delay healing.
-
Prepare: Ensure the area is clean and completely dry before application.
Apply: Dispense 1 to 2 pumps onto clean fingertips and gently press into the affected area. Avoid rubbing aggressively over broken or freshly treated skin.
Frequency: Use as needed throughout the day or as directed by your skincare professional. Reapply after cleansing or anytime the area feels tight or exposed.

What skin concerns does Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief address?
It is formulated for any situation where the skin barrier has been compromised. That includes post-procedure recovery after peels, microneedling, or laser treatments, as well as everyday wounds like minor cuts, scrapes, cracked skin, and surgical incision sites. The occlusive, antibacterial formula protects the area while botanical extracts reduce inflammation and support tissue repair.
Is Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief safe for acne-prone skin?
Yes. The shea butter in this formula is properly refined to remove the impurities that can clog pores, making it a safer choice for acne-prone skin compared to standard petroleum-based wound ointments. If you have active breakouts and healing wounds in the same area, apply the balm only to the compromised skin rather than across the entire face.
Can I use Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief on my face after a chemical peel?
Absolutely. The formula was designed with post-procedure recovery in mind. Its blend of centella asiatica, calendula, and panthenol helps calm redness and peeling while the occlusive base protects freshly exfoliated skin from environmental exposure. Follow your esthetician's post-peel protocol for timing and frequency.
How is Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief different from petroleum-based wound ointments?
Instead of relying on petroleum jelly, this balm uses refined shea butter as its occlusive base, paired with active botanicals like wild cherry bark, mandelic acid, and borage seed oil that deliver antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and barrier-repair benefits. It is a more targeted approach to wound healing that actively supports tissue recovery rather than simply sealing the surface.
Does Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief help prevent scarring?
The formula includes several ingredients that support scar prevention. Panthenol and hydrolyzed yeast protein promote healthy cell turnover, while horse chestnut bark and butcher's broom root extract improve microcirculation to reduce post-inflammatory discoloration. Consistent use during the critical early stages of healing gives skin the best chance of recovering smoothly.
How long does one tube of Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief last?
The 0.5 oz airless pump is compact but concentrated. Because you only need 1 to 2 pumps per application, a single unit can last several weeks of daily targeted use. The airless pump design also keeps the formula hygienic and prevents contamination, which matters when you are applying it to open or healing skin.
Can I apply makeup over Rhonda Allison Vital Wound Relief?
It is best to let the balm absorb fully before layering anything on top. Because the formula is occlusive by design, applying makeup directly over it may cause products to slide. If you need coverage, allow at least 10 to 15 minutes for the balm to set, then apply mineral-based makeup with a clean brush to minimize irritation on healing skin.

My daughter is very sensitive to hand soaps and has a patch of skin that flares up regularly. This has helped calm the skin and strengthen it. A little goes a long way. Very soothing and versatile for all types of skin irritations.

Vital Wound Relief does an excellent job helping healing. It also is my go to product when eczema and rosacea flare. I wear it over moisturizer and or serums at least 4 times a week. I also wear it under makeup if need be. Added bonus; Pleasant, calming vanilla aroma.
