Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub is a multi-tasking exfoliating scrub designed to smooth skin texture, fade existing discoloration, and encourage a visibly more even tone with regular use. Rhonda Allison is a professional skincare line rooted in clinical ingredient science, formulated for those who want real, measurable results at home. This scrub carries a fresh, clean scent from lavender, lime, and peppermint essential oils.
Key Benefits
Visibly fades dark spots and discoloration A brightening trio of kojic acid, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and daisy flower extract work together to interrupt melanin production at multiple points, helping to reduce the appearance of existing pigmentation and discourage new dark spots from forming.
Smooths and refines skin texture Jojoba ester beads provide gentle yet effective physical exfoliation, sloughing away dead skin cells without the micro-tears associated with crushed-shell or synthetic scrubs, leaving skin noticeably smoother after each use.
Calms and minimizes post-exfoliation irritation Allantoin and GABA (aminobutyric acid) work together to soothe the skin during exfoliation, helping to reduce redness and keep the skin barrier comfortable and balanced.
Delivers antioxidant protection Tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) and cranberry seed oil supply antioxidant support that helps defend skin against environmental stressors that contribute to dullness and uneven tone.
Supports skin softness and comfort Shea butter and caprylic/capric triglyceride replenish moisture as the scrub exfoliates, so skin never feels stripped or tight after rinsing.
-
If you deal with dull skin, uneven tone, sun spots, or post-acne marks that just won't budge, the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub gives you a targeted way to address discoloration while smoothing texture in the same step. It's especially well-suited for skin types prone to hyperpigmentation, including those with lingering dark spots from breakouts or sun exposure.
This scrub is also a strong fit for anyone who wants to maintain the results of professional treatments between appointments. The combination of kojic acid, L-ascorbic acid, and daisy flower extract makes it particularly effective for those working toward a more even, consistent skin tone over time.
If your skin is sensitive to aggressive physical exfoliants, the jojoba ester beads offer a gentler alternative to gritty or sharp-particle scrubs. Acne-prone skin types can also feel confident using this formula, as the shea butter used is properly refined to be acne safe.
-
For a deeper brightening cleanse, mix a small amount of Brightening Scrub directly in your palm with your regular cleanser before massaging it onto skin. This combines your cleansing and exfoliation steps into one, and it works especially well on nights when you want brighter-looking skin by morning without adding extra steps.
-
Prepare: Cleanse skin thoroughly before use.
Apply: With wet hands, dispense a small amount of Brightening Scrub onto fingertips and apply to face.
Technique: Massage the beads into skin using gentle circular motions for several minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water and a soft cloth. Gently brush skin with a dry towel to ensure all beads have been fully removed.
Frequency: May be used day or night. Start with 2-3 times per week and adjust based on how your skin responds.

Key Ingredients
- Bamboo: Exfoliant rich in vitamins, proteins, minerals, silica, and antioxidants to strengthen, soothe, and heal skin.
- Jojoba: An emollient plant oil that is most similar in structure to our own sebum. Provides antioxidant support and relieves skin irritation.
- Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid): A powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, which helps reduce skin redness, brighten complexion, and even skin tone.
- Kojic Acid: A by-product of fungi, acts as a tyrosine inhibitor and is a great exfoliator, leading to an overall more even complexion. Also has antimicrobial properties to reduce breakouts and promote clearer skin.
- Daisy (Bellis Perennis) Flower Extract: A gentle yet highly effective natural skin lightener that decreases tyrosinase synthesis, reduces melanin formation in the melanosomes and lightens existing pigmentation.
- Diglucosyl Gallic Acid: A synthetic antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and discoloration in the skin.
- Aminobutyric Acid (GABA): An effective antioxidant that reduces inflammatory pigmentation and inhibits tyrosinase activity.

What type of exfoliating beads does the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub use?
The Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub uses jojoba ester beads as its physical exfoliant. Unlike crushed walnut shell or synthetic microbeads, jojoba ester beads have a smooth, spherical shape that polishes the skin surface without creating micro-tears. This makes them a gentler and more skin-compatible option for regular exfoliation.
How does the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub target dark spots and discoloration?
The scrub addresses hyperpigmentation through three complementary brightening ingredients: kojic acid, which inhibits the enzyme responsible for melanin production; L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which interrupts pigment synthesis and provides antioxidant protection; and daisy flower extract, which has been studied for its ability to reduce melanin concentration in the skin. Together, these ingredients work at multiple points in the pigmentation process to fade existing spots and help prevent new ones from forming.
Can the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub be used on acne-prone skin?
Yes. While the formula does contain shea butter, it is specifically noted as properly refined to be acne safe, meaning the comedogenic compounds have been removed during processing. The jojoba ester beads also help clear debris from pores during exfoliation. If you have active breakouts or very reactive skin, start slowly with once-a-week use to see how your skin responds.
Is the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub safe for sensitive skin?
The formula includes allantoin and GABA (aminobutyric acid) to help calm and soothe the skin during exfoliation, which makes it more tolerable for skin that tends to react easily to physical scrubs. That said, sensitivity varies from person to person. If you are new to exfoliating scrubs, start with once a week and increase frequency gradually. Our estheticians are happy to help you find the right routine through a free skincare consultation.
What does the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub smell like?
The Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub has a fresh, clean scent from a blend of lavender, lime, and peppermint essential oils. The combination reads as bright and invigorating rather than heavy or floral, making the exfoliation step feel like a sensory treat.
How often should I use the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub?
The Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub can be used day or night and works well 2 to 3 times per week for most skin types. If you are also using other active ingredients like retinol or strong acids in your routine, space out usage to avoid over-exfoliating. Your skin's response is the best guide: if it feels tight or irritated after use, dial back frequency.
Does the Rhonda Allison Brightening Scrub contain any fragrance or common irritants?
The Brightening Scrub is scented with natural essential oils, specifically lavender, lime, and peppermint, rather than synthetic fragrance. It does not contain parabens or harsh sulfates. Those with known essential oil sensitivities should do a patch test before applying to the full face.

I had been looking for this exact product I purchased about four years ago, and had been using extremely sparingly because I loved it so, but have since moved from the facial provider that I purchased it at in Minneapolis- when I was unable to find it in stores now in Chicago near me, I purchased it online, and I am so glad to have the product back in my rotation!! For reference, for old users of this product, this is the same as the radiant bamboo polish, I believe they just had a slight marketing change.!! I will attach a photo of the same product from years ago with slight title change. It is the exact same formula, I crossed referenced all the ingredients. This is absolutely necessary for someone who self tans weekly.

I've been using this scrub for 10 years and absolutely love it. I use it 1-2 times a week and it immediately brightens my skin and restores its smoothness. I'm 61 with mild sun damage and mild rosacea and this does not affect either. For me, it's perfect.

I just started using this to help address some hyperpigmentation from the summer. My skin feels so soft after using and makes it feel like my serums are penetrating deeper. Great for face and body, highly recommend.

It's not a creamy scrub however it doesn't cause irritation and leaves a nice glow. The smell is not too strong.
