Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic is a hydrating, exfoliating toner built around lactic acid and a deep moisture complex to smooth texture, firm skin, and visibly reduce fine lines. Rather than simply prepping skin for the next step, this tonic actively resurfaces dull cellular buildup while flooding the skin with hydration, so you see softer, plumper skin after every use. A light, refreshing blend of grapefruit and bergamot essential oils gives it a clean citrus scent.
Key Benefits
Smoother, More Refined Texture Lactic acid dissolves the bonds between dead surface cells, clearing away the rough, dull buildup that makes skin look tired and uneven.
Visible Plumping of Fine Lines Sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid draw and hold moisture within the skin, helping to fill in fine lines and restore a fuller, more cushioned appearance.
Multi-Layer Hydration Aloe vera leaf extract, glycerin, sodium PCA, urea, and trehalose work together to replenish moisture at multiple levels, keeping skin comfortable and balanced long after application.
Firmer, More Supported Skin Hydrolyzed wheat protein and polyquaternium-51 form a lightweight moisture film that helps tighten and firm, giving skin a noticeably lifted feel.
Antioxidant Defense Green tea, grape seed, and rosemary extracts paired with tocopheryl acetate and retinyl palmitate help neutralize environmental stress and support healthy cell turnover.
-
If your skin feels rough, looks dull, or is starting to show fine lines and loss of firmness from intrinsic aging, this tonic was designed with you in mind. It works especially well for dry and dehydrated skin types that need exfoliation without the stripping or tightness that stronger acids can cause.
Because lactic acid is one of the gentlest alpha hydroxy acids, this is also a smart choice if you want the smoothing benefits of chemical exfoliation but your skin tends to be on the sensitive side. If you have a known AHA sensitivity, however, it is best to proceed with caution or consult with an esthetician first.
-
Try applying this tonic in light, pressing motions rather than sweeping strokes. Pressing the saturated pad against the skin allows the lactic acid and hyaluronic acid to absorb more effectively, and you avoid unnecessary tugging on areas that are already showing signs of laxity or fine lines.
-
Prepare: Shake the bottle well before each use. Cleanse your skin thoroughly and pat dry.
Apply: Dispense a small amount onto a cotton pad or toner pad. Sweep evenly across your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Follow up: Layer your preferred serum and moisturizer on top. In the morning, always finish with broad-spectrum SPF.
Frequency: Use daily as tolerated. If sensitivity occurs, scale back to once or twice per week and gradually increase as your skin adjusts.

What strength of lactic acid is in Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic?
Rhonda Allison does not disclose a specific percentage for the lactic acid in this formula. Based on its position in the ingredient list and the product's intended use as a daily tonic, it is formulated at a mild, toner-appropriate level designed for consistent use rather than intensive peeling.
Can I use Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic every day?
Yes, most skin types can use it daily as part of a morning or evening routine. If you are new to lactic acid or have reactive skin, start with two to three times per week and increase frequency as your skin builds tolerance.
Will Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic help with sagging or loss of firmness?
This tonic is specifically designed to address early signs of laxity from intrinsic aging. Hydrolyzed wheat protein and polyquaternium-51 create a firming film on the skin, while hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate plump from within, giving the appearance of tighter, more supported skin over time.
Is Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic suitable for sensitive skin?
Lactic acid is one of the gentlest AHAs, and the formula includes calming botanicals like chamomile, cucumber, and allantoin to help minimize irritation. That said, if you have a known sensitivity to alpha hydroxy acids, patch test first or reach out for a free skincare consultation before adding it to your routine.
Do I need to wear sunscreen when using Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic?
Absolutely. Lactic acid increases your skin's sensitivity to UV exposure. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every morning, even on overcast days, to protect freshly exfoliated skin and prevent new discoloration.
Can I layer other actives with Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic?
Yes. Because it is formulated at a gentle toner level, it pairs well with most serums and moisturizers. If you are also using retinoids or other exfoliating acids, introduce them on alternating evenings first to gauge how your skin responds before layering them together.
What does Rhonda Allison Lactic Renew Tonic smell like?
It has a light, fresh citrus scent from the grapefruit and bergamot essential oils in the formula. The fragrance is subtle and dissipates quickly after application.

I was looking to add a toner to my skin care routine, and I decided to add this one because of the recommendation on my skin assessment from AOSC. It is gentle, yet I also feel that it is a gentle exfoliant as well. Leaving my skin residue free and ready to enhance the serum and other products I use. I would recommend giving it a try if it agrees with your skin's needs.

Using it for some time but can’t see any difference in skin. Very watery texture: just slips out of my hands.

I usually get the HOP+ Pilleo Skin Prep Bubble Toner, but I wanted to try Rhonda as a toner, since i loved their serums, and it did not disappoint, is a much affordable option and since it’s a spray bottle it makes application easier, the product leaves your skin with a glowy look very hydrated and i feel like it helps my skin absorb the rest of the products, its a good alternative.

I see no results from this product. I love the toner results from this brand that smelled like pumpkin, but could not tolerate the strong pumpkin smell.
This product doesn't work for fine lines and moisture for me. I will not reorder.
