Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream
Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream is a lightweight corrective gel-cream that absorbs fully into the skin without any tacky residue, making it easy to layer under a moisturizer as part of your evening routine. At its core, 0.1% pure retinol works to visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles, smooth uneven texture, and fade discoloration over time by accelerating cell turnover and stimulating collagen production.
Key Benefits
Visibly Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles Retinol at 0.1% accelerates skin cell turnover and stimulates collagen synthesis, helping to soften the look of fine lines and deeper wrinkles with consistent use.
Supports Collagen and Firmness A five-peptide blend including copper tripeptide-1, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, tripeptide-1, dipeptide-2, and oligopeptide-1 works alongside retinol to reinforce the skin's structural proteins, improving firmness and elasticity.
Smooths Texture and Minimizes Pores Agave tequilana leaf extract and bakuchiol complement retinol's resurfacing action to refine rough texture and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores without adding irritation.
Fades Uneven Pigmentation Dipotassium glycyrrhizate and adenosine work to calm and even skin tone, helping to diminish the look of dark spots and discoloration over time.
Hydrates and Protects While Correcting Sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, and tocopherol deliver hydration and antioxidant protection throughout the night, helping to offset the drying effects that can come with retinol use.
If you're ready to start a retinol routine or step up from a lower-concentration formula, Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream is a strong fit. It's well-suited for anyone targeting fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, or pigmentation concerns, and the supportive peptide and hydration complex makes it more approachable than a stand-alone retinol.
This cream works for normal, combination, and oily skin types. The gel-cream texture absorbs cleanly and layers well under a moisturizer, so it fits naturally into an existing evening routine without disrupting what's already working.
If you have very sensitive, reactive skin or active skin conditions like eczema or rosacea, start slowly and consider speaking with one of our licensed estheticians before adding this to your routine.
Start by applying every 2 to 3 nights for the first week or two and let your skin adapt before increasing frequency. If you notice dryness or sensitivity during that adjustment period, mix a small amount into your nightly moisturizer before applying. This dilutes the concentration just enough to ease your skin in without skipping the benefits of retinol entirely.
Prepare: Cleanse and tone before applying.
Apply: Dispense a small amount and smooth evenly over face, neck, and chest in the evening.
Layer: Follow with a moisturizer to seal in the formula and support the skin barrier.
Frequency: Begin every 2 to 3 nights for the first one to two weeks, then gradually increase to nightly as your skin adjusts. Apply SPF every morning while using this product.
- Retinol: A derivative of vitamin A that provides exfoliation and stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Peptides: Short chains of amino acids that signal the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. Think of them as messengers that tell your skin to repair and firm itself.
- Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract: Contains lignin, which aids in collagen production and improves elasticity to help improve the appearance of large pores.
- Bakuchiol: A plant-based retinol alternative that promotes a vibrant, refined, taut, and renewed complexion.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Naturally occurring in the skin, provides intense hydration and plumps and improves skin barrier function by attracting and retaining moisture.
- Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid): A powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, which helps reduce skin redness, brighten complexion, and even skin tone.

What concentration of retinol is in Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream?
Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream contains 0.1% pure retinol, which is considered an effective corrective concentration for targeting fine lines, texture, and pigmentation. It's strong enough to deliver visible results while still being approachable for those building a retinol tolerance. The inclusion of bakuchiol and a peptide complex also helps the skin handle the retinol more comfortably over time.
What makes Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream different from other retinol products?
Most retinol products focus on the single active and leave the supporting work to the rest of your routine. Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream pairs 0.1% retinol with bakuchiol, agave tequilana leaf extract, a five-peptide complex, and both sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid, so the formula addresses fine lines, firmness, texture, pigmentation, and hydration in one step. The gel-cream texture also absorbs without residue, making it easy to layer.
What does bakuchiol do in Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream?
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived ingredient that complements retinol by targeting similar pathways related to collagen production and skin renewal, but with a gentler profile. In Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream, it works alongside retinol to enhance texture refinement and pore minimization without adding extra irritation. Clinical studies have shown bakuchiol to improve fine lines, pigmentation, and elasticity with minimal side effects.
Which peptides are included in Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream?
Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream contains five peptides: copper tripeptide-1, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, tripeptide-1, dipeptide-2, and oligopeptide-1. Together, they support collagen synthesis, improve skin firmness, and help maintain elasticity. Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 in particular is one of the most studied peptides for visible anti-aging results.
Can Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream be used with other active ingredients?
Retinol is best used on its own in the evening and should not be combined with AHAs, BHAs, or vitamin C in the same application, as doing so can increase irritation and compromise the skin barrier. If you use other actives in your routine, alternate nights or save them for your morning routine. If you're unsure how to layer your current routine around Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream, our estheticians are happy to help through a free skincare consultation.
Is Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream safe for acne-prone skin?
Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream is formulated with a highly refined soybean oil that has been processed to be acne-safe, and the overall formula is designed to absorb cleanly without leaving a heavy or pore-clogging residue. Retinol itself is commonly used in acne-prone skin routines because of its ability to promote cell turnover and refine pore appearance. If you're acne-prone and want guidance on integrating this into your routine, a free skincare consultation with one of our acne-certified estheticians is a great place to start.
How long before I see results from Dr. esthé Pure Retinol 0.1% Cream?
Retinol results build over time. Most people begin to notice smoother texture and a more even tone within four to six weeks of consistent use, with more significant improvements in fine lines and firmness typically becoming visible around the eight to twelve week mark. Gradual, consistent use is more effective than aggressive application, so starting slow and building frequency over the first few weeks sets you up for better long-term results.

I purchased this retinol based off of a recommendation I received from my trusted aesthetician and I have no regrets. This retinol is gentle and effective as I experienced zero irritation (I have sensitive skin). I would recommend it to anyone beginning their retinol journey or anyone who is using other actives. Gentle enough to use every other day.

I have tried over 10 different types of retinol and all with one overnight use I would wake up and my skin would look like it was fried. Burnt and wrinkly…I eventually gave up on retinol, but after loving Dr.Esthe’s other products I kept eyeing this retinol. I decided to bite the bullet and give retinol one last go. I have been applying this every 3 days at night and wow. I am seeing results, I have had very minimal purging and my skin does not look fried! This week I am going to start using it every 2 days because my skin is handling it so well and fingers crossed I get to using this every night eventually! This retinol is amazing!

This is an instant facelift in a bottle. As stated before I love everything Dr Esthe, her skincare products are hands down the best. I’ve never had a disappointment with an of her products. Hopefully he never changes any of his formulas, if it’s not broken don’t change it.
