Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% is a targeted corrective serum built around 10% glycolic acid to dissolve stubborn blackheads, smooth out bumps trapped under the skin (maturation arrest acne), and refine overall skin texture. Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular weight of all alpha-hydroxy acids, which means it penetrates the pore lining faster and deeper than other AHAs to break apart the compacted debris that keeps these lesions stuck in place. This is the kind of serum you reach for when surface exfoliation alone isn't cutting it and you need a direct route into congested pores.
Key Benefits
Clears Blackheads and Under-the-Skin Bumps Glycolic acid at 10% concentration dissolves the oxidized sebum plugs that form blackheads and loosens the compacted cells responsible for maturation arrest acne, those firm "pebbles" you can feel but not always see.
Faster Pore Penetration Than Other AHAs Because glycolic acid is the smallest alpha-hydroxy acid molecule, it reaches deeper into the pore lining more quickly, making it especially effective for congestion that sits below the surface.
Helps Prevent Future Breakouts Consistent exfoliation of the follicle wall keeps dead cells from re-accumulating, reducing the cycle of new blackheads and closed comedones forming in the same areas.
Smooths and Evens Skin Tone Witch hazel water and glycerin work alongside glycolic acid to help calm the skin and maintain hydration while the acid resurfaces, leaving texture more even and tone more uniform.
Versatile Spot Treatment Option Can be applied all over or used as a targeted spot treatment on individual areas of congestion, giving you flexibility depending on how much of your skin needs attention.
This serum is designed for oily and combination skin types dealing with persistent blackheads, closed comedones, or maturation arrest acne, those stubborn bumps under the skin that don't come to a head. It is particularly well suited if you have already used a lower-strength glycolic serum and still have congestion that hasn't fully resolved.
If your skin leans dry or sensitive, or if you experience redness and irritation with exfoliating acids, this concentration may be too active for everyday use. Starting with a 5% glycolic formula first is a safer way to gauge your skin's tolerance before stepping up to 10%.
If you're still seeing blackheads and under-the-skin bumps after finishing a full bottle of the 5% glycolic serum, stepping up to this 10% concentration is the logical next move, but if your skin feels dry or inflamed at the lower strength, hold off on increasing and focus on barrier support instead.
Apply: After cleansing and toning, dispense 1 pump and smooth over the entire face or just the areas of congestion.
Technique: Layer under your moisturizer and allow a moment for the serum to absorb before applying the next step in your routine.
Frequency: Use in the evening. Always apply SPF in the morning when incorporating this serum into your routine, as glycolic acid increases sun sensitivity.
Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benzyl Alcohol, Plantago Lanceolata Leaf Extract, Sodium Gluconate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum
What skin concerns does Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% target?
It is formulated specifically for blackheads, maturation arrest acne (firm bumps trapped under the skin), and general pore congestion. The 10% glycolic acid concentration dissolves compacted debris inside the pore, helping those stubborn lesions clear more efficiently than surface-level exfoliation alone.
How is Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% different from the 5% version?
The 10% formula delivers a higher concentration of glycolic acid, which means more exfoliating power inside the pore. It is intended as a step up for skin that tolerated the 5% serum well but still has unresolved blackheads or under-the-skin bumps. If you haven't used the 5% version yet, starting there first is the best approach.
Can I use Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% as a spot treatment?
Yes. You can apply it to specific areas of congestion instead of the entire face. This is a useful strategy if only certain zones, like the nose, chin, or forehead, have persistent blackheads or bumps while the rest of your skin doesn't need that level of exfoliation.
Will Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% make my skin more sensitive to the sun?
Glycolic acid does increase photosensitivity, so daily SPF is essential when using this serum. Even if you apply the serum only at night, the exfoliating effect on your skin's surface means you need sun protection the following morning and throughout the day.
Can I layer Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% with other active serums?
Glycolic serums can be layered under mandelic serums, vitamin A correctives, or acne treatment products as part of a guided routine. Because layering multiple actives increases the chance of irritation, it is best to work with an esthetician who can customize the combination for your skin. You can book a free skincare consultation to get personalized guidance.
Is Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10% suitable for dry or sensitive skin?
This concentration is generally too active for dry or sensitive skin types. Glycolic acid at 10% can trigger redness, peeling, or irritation in skin that lacks sufficient oil production or has a compromised barrier. A lower-strength glycolic formula or a gentler exfoliant like mandelic acid is typically a better fit.
How long does it take to see results with Face Reality Glycolic Acid Serum 10%?
Blackheads and surface congestion often begin to improve within a few weeks of consistent use, but maturation arrest acne can take longer because those lesions are deeply compacted within the pore. Sticking with it nightly and pairing it with the right supporting routine gives you the best chance of clearing those stubborn bumps.

Definitely helping my breakouts. Just a bit too strong to use everyday.
I love how good this feels on my skin
i have used many glycolic serums over the years and I must say i am a big fan of this one. This might even be my favorite. First off i love that there’s different levels so you can start off slow and increase the intensity of the product. But this serum also just works so well! I struggle with not only cystic acne but also closed comedones that can be so tricky to get rid of. Since using this about a month ago, my skin has become so much clearer and happier. My texture is way better as well. Im a huge fan of this product!
I use this every other day in the morning and as a spot treatment. I rarely get breakouts now and if I do, they go away quickly and without leaving a mark. It does not feel drying nor did it cause irritation when I first started using it. I haven’t had any hormonal breakouts either. I will always have this on hand.
Great product and shipped quick
