GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser is a cream cleanser built around magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable, water-soluble form of vitamin C that delivers brightening and antioxidant benefits without the irritation that pure ascorbic acid can cause. The result is a cleanser that does more than remove makeup and debris: it actively nourishes skin that feels depleted, dull, or dehydrated. The formula has a light, natural grapefruit scent from the citrus peel oil in the blend.
Key Benefits
Brightens and evens skin tone Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate helps reduce the look of dullness and uneven tone over time, giving skin a more luminous, even appearance with every wash.
Delivers deep, lasting hydration Glycerin, lanolin, and a blend of emollient esters soften and condition skin during the cleansing step so it never feels tight or stripped afterward.
Supports skin repair with calcium and vitamin A Calcium chloride promotes tissue repair and collagen support while retinyl palmitate encourages healthy cell turnover, making this cleanser especially useful for post-procedure or mature skin.
Provides multi-layer antioxidant defense Grapefruit peel oil, grape seed oil, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), and superoxide dismutase work together to neutralize free radicals and protect against daily environmental stress.
Gently refines texture without abrasion Quillaja saponaria (soap bark) extract offers mild, natural cleansing action that lifts impurities and helps smooth uneven texture without microbeads or harsh surfactants.
If your skin feels tight after cleansing, looks dull even after a full routine, or is recovering from a professional treatment, this cleanser was designed with you in mind. It is especially well suited for dry, dehydrated, and mature skin types that need hydration delivered at every step.
It also works well as a first cleanse in a double-cleanse routine for blemish-prone skin. Because the formula is creamy and emollient rather than foaming, it dissolves makeup and sunscreen effectively while leaving the skin barrier intact.
Because this is a cream cleanser, applying it to dry skin first and then adding water gives the formula more time to dissolve sunscreen, makeup, and oil-based debris before rinsing, so you get a deeper cleanse without scrubbing harder.
Apply: Massage a small amount onto dry skin using your fingertips.
Technique: Dampen your fingers with warm water and continue massaging in circular motions for a full two minutes to allow the actives to work.
Remove: Rinse thoroughly with warm water or remove with a warm, damp cloth.
Frequency: Use morning and evening. For blemish-prone skin, follow with a foaming cleanser as your second cleanse. Always apply SPF in the morning.

What type of vitamin C is in GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser?
The formula uses magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable, water-soluble derivative of vitamin C. It is gentler than pure ascorbic acid, which makes it a strong fit for sensitive, dry, or post-procedure skin that still needs brightening and antioxidant support.
Is GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser good for mature skin?
Yes. The combination of calcium chloride, retinyl palmitate, and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate supports collagen production, healthy cell turnover, and a more even tone. These are key concerns for mature skin, and addressing them at the cleansing step sets up every product that follows to work more effectively.
Can I use GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser after a chemical peel or professional treatment?
This cleanser is commonly recommended for post-procedure recovery because it hydrates and nourishes without harsh surfactants that could aggravate freshly treated skin. Calcium chloride and lanolin support the skin's natural repair process. Always follow your provider's specific aftercare instructions.
Will GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser work for acne-prone skin?
The formula is designed to be acne-safe. For oily or blemish-prone skin, it works best as a first cleanse to break down sunscreen and makeup, followed by a foaming cleanser to clear pores. This double-cleanse approach gives you the nourishing benefits without leaving excess residue.
Does GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser remove makeup?
Yes. The cream-based formula is rich in emollients that dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and oil-based debris when applied to dry skin first. For heavy or waterproof makeup, follow up with a second cleanse to ensure pores are completely clear.
How is GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser different from a foaming cleanser?
Foaming cleansers rely on surfactants that can strip natural oils, which is useful for oily skin but problematic for dry or compromised skin. This cream cleanser uses emollients and mild soap bark extract to lift impurities while adding hydration back, so your skin feels soft and conditioned rather than tight.
What does the grape seed oil in GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser do?
Grape seed oil is rich in linoleic acid and polyphenols, both of which provide antioxidant protection and help improve skin texture. In this formula, it works alongside grapefruit peel oil and vitamin E to create a multi-antioxidant approach that helps defend against environmental damage during the cleansing step.

Very nice, smooth, light cleanser..Feels wonderful on face as I massage all over face & neck...
Will buy again.
This cleanser makes my face feel smooth and hydrated after use. It has a milky consistency, and I have had trouble with my skin feeling clean with these types of cleansers, but this has never been a problem with this one!
I like this for my morning wash. It is very gentle and creamy. Face feels hydrated and clean .
This cleanser is OK. I bought it as one of AOS recommended products for hyperpigmentation. In the instructions on how to use the product, it says to follow up with a foaming cleanser if you have oily skin and I definitely need to do that otherwise my t-zone doesn’t feel clean at all.
I have sensitve combination skin and this works amazing wether my face is dry or oily. Doing a double cleanse with this has eliminated my acne.
