Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder
The Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder is a finely milled, multi-use botanical powder designed to calm reactive, sensitized, and irritation-prone skin on contact. Formulated with eight plant-derived actives, it works to visibly reduce redness, ease irritation, and support skin recovery, and it pulls triple duty as a concealing powder, spot treatment, or soothing mask depending on how you apply it. It is fragrance-free and gluten-free, making it a dependable choice for even the most reactive skin.
Key Benefits
Calms redness and irritation on contact Beta-glucan, a well-studied polysaccharide derived from oats or yeast, supports the skin's natural barrier response and helps reduce visible redness caused by sensitivity, inflammation, or environmental triggers.
Soothes and relieves itchiness Calamine provides targeted relief from itchiness and skin discomfort, while allantoin works alongside it to encourage skin recovery and ease the sensation of irritation.
Reduces inflammatory response Boswellia serrata extract and glycyrrhetinic acid, a bioactive derived from licorice root, both help interrupt the skin's inflammatory cycle, making this powder effective for calming flare-ups beyond the surface level.
Supports skin recovery Ursolic acid and willow bark extract contribute antioxidant and skin-conditioning properties that help the skin restore balance after periods of stress, irritation, or sensitivity.
Conceals visible redness Mica, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides provide a light, skin-tone-blending coverage that visually neutralizes redness without the feel of a traditional makeup product.
If your skin flushes easily, reacts to products, or experiences chronic redness and itchiness, the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder was built with you in mind. It is especially well-suited for those with sensitized, rosacea-prone, or compromised skin that needs something effective but gentle enough to use during a flare-up.
This powder also works well for anyone managing post-treatment skin, whether after a facial, a procedure, or an unexpected reaction. Its versatility, used dry for daily redness concealment or mixed into a paste for targeted spot treatment, means it can fit into your routine at multiple points depending on what your skin needs that day.
Because it is fragrance-free, gluten-free, and formulated without common sensitizers, it is a practical option for those who have struggled to find products that do not make reactive skin worse.
For an extra layer of calming benefit during a flare-up, keep this powder in a cool, dry place and mix your paste using cold water before applying. The lower temperature can help take the edge off acute redness and discomfort while the actives get to work.
As a dry powder: Sprinkle a small amount onto clean fingertips or a brush and dust lightly over areas of redness to conceal and calm.
As a spot treatment: Sprinkle a small amount of powder into your hand or a dish. Add a few drops of water to form a paste and apply directly to the area of irritation. Allow to dry, then remove with warm water.
As a soothing mask: Sprinkle powder into a dish and add water to create a thin, even paste. Apply a thin layer to a cleansed face and allow to dry completely. Remove with warm water, then follow with your serum and moisturizer.
Frequency: Use as needed during periods of irritation or reactivity. Do not apply to broken or cracked skin.
- Glycyrrhetinic Acid: An acid with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and brightening effects.
- Boswellia Serrata Extract (Boswellia Serrata Plant Heart): Used in Ayurvedic medicine, an extract with powerful anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
- Willow Bark Extract: A natural form of salicylic acid that exfoliates and refines pores while calming inflammation.
- Totarol: Natural antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, to heal and soothe breakouts and nourish and protect the skin.
- Iron Oxides: Micronized pigments that are commonly used as cosmetic colorants, while also protecting the skin from blue (HEV) light damage and photoaging.
- Beta Glucan: A deeply hydrating, barrier-strengthening ingredient that helps calm redness, support skin recovery, and improve resilience, making it ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

What makes the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder different from a typical setting powder?
Unlike a standard setting powder, the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder is formulated with eight botanical actives that are specifically chosen to calm inflammation, reduce redness, and support skin recovery. The coverage it provides from mica, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides is a secondary benefit to its therapeutic function, not the main event. It is closer to a skin treatment than a cosmetic finish.
Can the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder be used during an active skin flare-up?
Yes, it is designed for exactly that. Ingredients like calamine, allantoin, beta-glucan, and glycyrrhetinic acid are all well-suited for skin that is actively reactive or inflamed. The one exception is broken or cracked skin, where the powder should not be applied until the skin has begun to heal.
How does beta-glucan in the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder help sensitive skin?
Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide that supports barrier function and helps modulate the skin's inflammatory response. For sensitive and reactive skin types, this means less visible redness and a stronger defense against the triggers that cause flare-ups. It is one of the most well-researched calming actives available in professional skincare.
What is glycyrrhetinic acid and why is it included in the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder?
Glycyrrhetinic acid is a bioactive compound derived from licorice root with documented anti-inflammatory properties. It helps interrupt the skin's inflammatory signaling, which makes it especially useful for redness associated with sensitivity, rosacea-prone skin, or post-irritation flare-ups. It works alongside boswellia serrata extract to address inflammation from multiple pathways.
Can the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder be mixed with other products?
Yes, the powder can be mixed with water to create a paste for spot treatment or mask use. It is designed to be versatile within a calming skincare routine, though we recommend checking with a professional esthetician if you are unsure how it fits with your current regimen. You can reach our team through a free skincare consultation.
Is the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder safe for rosacea-prone skin?
The formulation is built around ingredients that are commonly recommended for reactive and rosacea-prone skin, including calamine, allantoin, glycyrrhetinic acid, and beta-glucan. It is also fragrance-free and gluten-free, which removes two common triggers for sensitive skin types. If you have active rosacea, we always recommend speaking with one of our estheticians before introducing new products.
How often can the Hale & Hush Relief Bio Powder be used as a mask?
Because the formula is so gentle, it can generally be used as a mask several times per week or as often as your skin calls for it. During periods of heightened reactivity or irritation, more frequent use as a short-duration mask can help bring the skin back to a calmer baseline. Start a few times per week and adjust based on how your skin responds.

Ok so, this product cannot be worn as face powder for cosmetic purposes. As soon as it touches water or oil it turns BRIGHT YELLOW. In the details and video on how to use the product put out by AOS and the company they mention just dusting it in if you’d wish to use it as a facial powder but it definitely doesn’t work like that :/ however, using it as a spot treatment for angry or acne-prone areas was alright. Just know you have to wash it off if you’re leaving home.

I really believe this has made a big difference in my problem areas on my skin. I have been struggling with hormonal acne for years and this has made the most difference along with the hale and hush clarifying face wash . I also use the quiet face wash in the morning. Loving all these products. I use the Bio powder morning and night.

I received a sample of this with my last order and will definitely be reordering. I have used this to conceal blemishes and have noticed by end of day, my blemish is significantly reduced in size and redness. I use my finger to apply it and then a brush to smooth it out. I find it blends well. More importantly, it is a fanastic concealer and very healing.
