iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser
iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser is a honey gel cleanser that deeply purifies while delivering gentle enzymatic exfoliation, leaving skin balanced and refreshed rather than stripped. The formula has a naturally sweet honey scent and creates a mild warming sensation when it contacts water, making each cleanse feel like a treatment. It works equally well as a daily cleanser or a clarifying mask, making it one of the more versatile cleansers in the iS Clinical lineup.
Key Benefits
Enzymatic exfoliation without friction Papain, a proteolytic enzyme derived from papaya, dissolves dead surface cells to refine skin texture and minimize the appearance of pores without any physical scrubbing.
Deep cleansing that holds onto moisture Honey brings natural antibacterial properties that help purify pores, while glycerin draws moisture into the skin so it feels clean and comfortable after every rinse.
Antioxidant and soothing support Camellia sinensis leaf extract delivers antioxidant protection while royal jelly and propolis extract help calm the skin and support its natural resilience during cleansing.
A warming sensation that enhances the experience The formula activates a gentle warming effect when water and massage are introduced, which encourages circulation and helps the cleanser work more thoroughly into pores.
Doubles as a clarifying mask Leave the formula on for 3 to 5 minutes to extend papain's contact time with the skin, deepening its pore-refining and texture-smoothing benefits beyond what a standard rinse-off cleanse provides.
This cleanser is a strong match for combination, blemish-prone, or sensitive skin that needs effective daily cleansing and exfoliation without the irritation that comes from physical scrubs or harsh foaming formulas. If your pores look congested but your skin reacts poorly to aggressive treatments, the papain enzyme offers a gentler path to clearer texture.
It also works well for anyone who wants a single product that can serve two purposes. Use it as an everyday cleanser morning and evening, then switch it into mask mode a couple of times a week when your skin needs extra refinement. The honey gel base keeps it comfortable for drier or reactive skin while still delivering results for oilier zones.
Apply this cleanser to completely dry skin before introducing any water. Papain works best with direct, uninterrupted contact on the skin's surface, and adding water too early dilutes the formula and cuts the exfoliation window short. Let it sit and work for the full two-minute massage before you dampen your fingertips.
Apply: Dispense onto completely dry skin and massage in circular motions for two full minutes, avoiding the eye area.
Activate: Dampen fingertips with warm water to activate the warming sensation and continue massaging to work the formula into pores.
Remove: Rinse thoroughly with warm water or gently remove with a warm, damp cloth.
Frequency: Use morning and evening as a daily cleanser, or leave on dry skin for 3 to 5 minutes and use as a clarifying mask 1 to 2 times per week.
- Glycerin: Provides long-lasting, intense moisture retention.
- Honey: Rich in antioxidants with natural antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Provides healing and moisture-restoring benefits.
- Papaya Fruit Extract: Packed with papain, a natural exfoliating enzyme that breaks down dead skin cells to refine texture, brighten tone, and leave skin visibly smoother and more radiant.
- Royal Jelly: Calms inflammation while stimulating fibroblast activity to improve elasticity with overall brightening properties to lighten pigmentation.
- Green Tea Extract: Calms, soothes, and moisturizes, while providing antioxidant and anti-microbial support.

What causes the warming sensation in iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser?
The warming effect is a natural response triggered when the honey gel formula meets water and the friction of massage. It is not caused by an added heating agent but by the interaction between the formula and moisture. The warmth is mild and should feel soothing rather than stinging or irritating.
Can I use iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser if I have sensitive or reactive skin?
Yes. The formula is designed to be gentle enough for sensitive skin. While papain provides enzymatic exfoliation, the honey, royal jelly, and propolis extract in the formula help keep the experience calm and comfortable. If your skin is particularly reactive, start with a few uses per week and increase frequency as your skin adjusts.
How do I use iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser as a clarifying mask?
Apply a thin, even layer to dry skin and leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes. The extended contact time gives the papain enzyme more opportunity to dissolve dead surface cells and refine the appearance of pores. Rinse thoroughly with warm water afterward, and use this method 1 to 2 times per week for best results.
Which skin types benefit most from iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser?
This cleanser is especially well suited to combination, blemish-prone, and sensitive skin types. The papain enzyme refines congested pores without the abrasion of a physical scrub, and the honey and botanical extracts keep skin hydrated and calm throughout the process. It is gentle enough for reactive skin but effective enough to address oilier zones.
Does iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser contain added fragrance?
The formula does not contain synthetic fragrance. However, the honey and propolis extract in the formula give it a naturally sweet scent that some users notice during use. The aroma is mild and dissipates once you rinse.
Can I use iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser alongside retinol or other active treatments?
Yes. Because papain is a gentle enzymatic exfoliant rather than an acid or abrasive, it tends to pair well with most active treatments including retinol. Cleansing with this formula first can help skin better absorb the serums and treatments you apply after. If you are using a prescription-strength retinoid, pay attention to how your skin responds and adjust your cleansing frequency accordingly.
How long does a 4 oz tube of iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser typically last?
With twice-daily use, a 4 oz tube generally lasts 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how much you dispense per cleanse. A dime-sized amount is typically enough to cover the full face. If you are alternating with another cleanser or using it once daily, the tube will last considerably longer.

I think this is the first product from AOS that I didn’t love. I’m not a fan of the efficacy for a cleanser and if it didn’t smell so bad, I would use it as a mask instead. Mine smells kind of rancid. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to smell that way or not, but I just couldn’t stomach it.

Sweet Treat
I love this gentle cleanser. Feels so good rubbing on and my skin feels so soft when I rinse it off. I use this as my second cleanse or sometimes as a mask after my double cleanse. My skin is super sensitive and had zero reaction. Although a bit pricey, I will continue to treat myself with this product :)

I'm a believer
Big fan of this cleanser. I have sensitive, combo, somewhat acne-prone, 37 year old african american skin. I was suggested this cleanser by my aesthetician and honestly, I was reluctant to try it. It doesn't foam, it's like a paste, and I didn't trust that I wouldn't case me to break out. But baby, it is the best. My skin has been glowing since I switched from Obagi to this, and I'm now a believer.
