Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex
Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex is a renewing bakuchiol serum that delivers the anti-aging benefits of retinol without the irritation, while brightening uneven tone and protecting skin with a concentrated blend of botanical extracts and antioxidants. This lightweight serum helps minimize the appearance of fine lines, improves skin texture, and promotes a more radiant, even complexion over time.
Key Benefits
Retinol-Like Results Without the Irritation: Bakuchiol smooths fine lines and improves texture without the dryness, flaking, or sun sensitivity that comes with traditional retinol.
Brighter, More Even Skin Tone: Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, a stable vitamin C ester, works alongside bakuchiol to fade discoloration and restore luminosity to dull, uneven skin.
Protective Antioxidant Defense: Coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, and rosemary extract shield skin from environmental stressors that accelerate visible aging.
Deep Nourishment for Lasting Comfort: Rosehip seed oil and sunflower seed oil deliver essential fatty acids that help strengthen the skin barrier while keeping the formula lightweight and easily absorbed.
Ideal for anyone seeking the anti-aging benefits of retinol without the irritation, especially if your skin is sensitive, reactive, or new to active ingredients. This serum is particularly effective if you're dealing with fine lines, uneven tone, or dullness and want a gentler approach that won't disrupt your barrier.
If you've struggled with retinol in the past or want an active serum you can use morning and night without sun sensitivity concerns, this bakuchiol-based formula offers a smart alternative. It's also an excellent choice for those looking to brighten and refine their complexion while maintaining skin comfort.
Because bakuchiol doesn't cause photosensitivity like retinol does, you can safely use this serum in your morning routine without worrying about increased sun sensitivity. Layer it under your SPF for daytime antioxidant protection and brightening benefits that work around the clock.
Prepare: Apply to clean, dry skin after cleansing and toning.
Apply: Dispense 2-3 drops into palms and press gently into face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Frequency: Use morning and evening. Follow with moisturizer and sunscreen during the day.
- Bakuchiol: A plant-based retinol alternative that promotes a vibrant, refined, taut, and renewed complexion.
- Vitamin C (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate): A deeply penetrating, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C that brightens dark spots, evens skin tone, and boosts collagen production without the irritation or instability of traditional Vitamin C.
- Ubiquinone: A powerful, naturally occurring antioxidant that plays a vital role in cellular energy production and neutralizes free radicals to support collagen production, boost hydration, and improve overall texture.
- Vitamin E (Tocopherol): Soothes, brightens, and helps reverse and protect against environmental damage.
- Rosehip Extract/Oil: Antioxidant-rich botanical, with natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, that deeply moisturizes to support skin’s elasticity.

What is bakuchiol and how does it compare to retinol in Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex?
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived active that delivers many of the same benefits as retinol, including improved fine lines, texture, and tone, but without the irritation or sun sensitivity. It's a gentler option that can be used morning and night, making it ideal for sensitive skin or anyone who can't tolerate traditional retinoids.
Can I use Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex with other actives?
Yes, bakuchiol is known for its compatibility with other actives. You can layer it with vitamin C, AHAs, or niacinamide without the concerns that come with combining retinol. If you're using multiple actives, introduce them gradually to monitor how your skin responds.
How long does it take to see results from Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex?
Most users notice improved brightness and smoother texture within 4-6 weeks of consistent use. Fine lines and deeper tone concerns typically improve over 8-12 weeks as the bakuchiol encourages cellular turnover and the antioxidants work to protect and restore skin.
Can I use Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex during the day?
Absolutely. Unlike retinol, bakuchiol doesn't increase sun sensitivity, so it's safe and effective for daytime use. The antioxidants in the formula actually provide additional protection against environmental damage when layered under your sunscreen.
Will Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex cause purging or peeling?
No, bakuchiol does not typically cause the purging, peeling, or flaking associated with retinol. It encourages cellular renewal in a gentler way, making it suitable for sensitive skin types and those who want visible results without an adjustment period.
What skin types can use Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex?
This serum works well for all skin types, including sensitive, dry, and reactive skin. Its lightweight texture absorbs easily without feeling heavy on oily or combination skin, while the nourishing rosehip and sunflower seed oils provide comfort for drier complexions.
Can I use Michele Corley Brighten & Restore Complex if I'm already using a retinol?
You can, but it's generally unnecessary to use both at the same time since they address similar concerns. If your retinol routine is working well, continue with it. If you're experiencing irritation or want a gentler option, consider switching to this bakuchiol serum instead.

Brighten & Restore
I've used this product several times, on and off, and it's one I come back to. It's hard to pinpoint the exact benefits, but it works well in conjunction with other Michele Corley products. Overall, it leaves my skin more radiant, glowy, and moisturized. My skin texture also benefits from this product. It's soft and more even.

So far, so good!
I'm extremely acne prone and typically have dull looking skin. I wanted something to prevent against aging and give me a glow. So far, this product hasn't caused my to break out, which is great and it definitely gives me a glow! I've been adding a few drops with my moisturizer and it gives me some extra plump. I also think that a few drops of this with my moisturizer has served as a great makeup primer! I do live in a very hot and humid climate, so I think this product may start to sweat off of me in the summer since it is more oil based. Not the product's fault though! I will definitely purchase again, but might use it for the more dry and colder months, or as a night time treatment.
