The Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub is a gentle yet effective exfoliating scrub designed to smooth, refine, and support the skin barrier from the neck down. Scented with a refreshing blend of lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint, and clary oils, it delivers a spa-like sensory experience while actively working to calm irritation, fight surface bacteria, and restore a firmer-looking texture over time.
Key Benefits
Smooths rough, bumpy skin Jojoba ester beads provide a round, non-abrasive exfoliation that buffs away dead skin cells without causing microtears, making this an excellent option for managing keratosis pilaris on arms, legs, and thighs.
Calms redness and inflammation Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract delivers potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, helping to reduce the redness and irritation that often accompany rough or congested skin texture.
Supports skin firmness Bambusa arundinacea stem extract provides silica-rich remineralization support, contributing to the structural integrity of the skin and helping to maintain elasticity with regular use.
Fights surface bacteria The combination of eucalyptus globulus leaf extract and the essential oil blend provides natural antimicrobial and antibacterial support, keeping the skin surface clean and balanced after exfoliation.
Replenishes moisture while you scrub Glycerin and caprylic/capric triglyceride work together to condition the skin mid-exfoliation, so skin feels hydrated and soft immediately after rinsing, never tight or stripped.
-
This scrub is ideal for anyone dealing with keratosis pilaris, chronically rough texture on the arms or legs, or skin that just never quite feels smooth no matter how much body lotion you apply. Because the jojoba ester beads are spherical and non-jagged, the exfoliation is thorough without being harsh, making this appropriate for most skin types including those who are sensitive to more abrasive scrubs.
If you prefer your skincare to pull double duty, the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub delivers both physical exfoliation and active botanical support in one step. It is especially well-suited for anyone who wants to prep skin before self-tanning, as even exfoliation helps sunless color apply uniformly and fade evenly.
Those with very sensitive or reactive skin who also deal with persistent keratosis pilaris may want to consult with one of our estheticians to determine whether this scrub or a more targeted exfoliating treatment is the better starting point.
-
Use the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub the night before or the morning of a self-tanner application. Evenly exfoliated skin allows sunless color to grip uniformly and prevents patchy fading, especially on rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles. Make sure skin is completely dry before applying any self-tanner after use.
-
Prepare: Dampen skin thoroughly in the shower or bath before applying.
Apply: Scoop a small amount and apply to desired areas. A little goes a long way.
Technique: Massage in a circular motion for several minutes, focusing on rough or bumpy areas like the upper arms, elbows, knees, and thighs.
Frequency: Gentle enough for frequent, regular use. Rinse thoroughly and follow with your preferred body moisturizer.

What skin concern is the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub best suited for?
This scrub was specifically formulated with keratosis pilaris in mind, a condition that causes small, rough bumps most commonly on the upper arms and thighs. The jojoba ester beads gently loosen and lift the buildup of keratin around hair follicles without the micro-tears that sharp, granular scrubs can cause. Regular use helps smooth texture and reduce the appearance of those persistent bumps over time.
How are the jojoba ester beads in the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub different from sugar or salt scrubs?
Jojoba ester beads are perfectly round, so they roll across the skin rather than scraping it. Sugar and salt crystals have irregular, angular edges that can create small tears in the skin surface, especially if applied with pressure. The round bead format makes this scrub a gentler choice for anyone with sensitivity, thin skin, or inflamed keratosis pilaris bumps that can worsen with aggressive exfoliation.
What does bamboo extract actually do for skin in the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub?
Bambusa arundinacea stem extract is naturally rich in silica, a mineral that plays a role in collagen production and the structural integrity of skin tissue. In this formulation, it provides remineralization support and contributes to a firmer-feeling skin texture with consistent use. It is one of the reasons this scrub does more than just buff the surface.
Is the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub scented?
Yes. The scrub is scented with a blend of naturally derived essential oils including lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, clary, litsea cubeba, basil, and ylang ylang. The result is a refreshing, botanical scent that leans herbal and cool rather than floral or heavily perfumed. If you prefer fragrance-free options, this product may not be the right fit.
Can the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub be used on the face?
This product is formulated for body use. The bead size and concentration, along with the essential oil blend, are calibrated for thicker body skin rather than facial skin. For facial exfoliation, we recommend exploring Rhonda Allison's line of face-specific exfoliants. Our estheticians can help you identify the right option during a free skincare consultation.
How does hibiscus extract benefit skin in the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub?
Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract is rich in anthocyanins and organic acids that deliver antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. In this scrub, it helps calm the redness and irritation that can accompany keratosis pilaris or rough, congested skin texture. It also provides environmental defense against oxidative stress during exfoliation.
How often can the Rhonda Allison Bamboo Body Scrub be used?
Because the jojoba ester beads are non-abrasive and the formula is designed to be gentle, this scrub can be used frequently and regularly. Most people see the best results with consistent use several times per week, particularly on areas prone to keratosis pilaris or dryness. Follow each use with a nourishing body moisturizer to lock in the smoothing results.

My hands are constantly in and out of water and being outside this winter has really made them feel like sandpaper. I've been using the scrub on them a couple of times a week and they are feeling and looking much better.

This is my second container of this scrub. So gentle on my skin however does such a great job exfoliating. I Definitely use this before I shave so I don’t get bumps which my skin is very prone to. I use a scrub 2 times a week and this is 1 of my favorites. Definitely worth the price. After I use I always use a nice lotion afterwards and my skin feels very soft and hydrated
