The Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum is a clarifying, antibacterial serum formulated to reduce acne-causing bacteria, calm active breakouts, and support skin healing without stripping or over-drying. Scented with lemon peel, eucalyptus, and tea tree oils, this lightweight serum has a clean, herbal quality that signals it's working. It's versatile enough for full-face application or targeted spot treatment, making it a practical daily tool for anyone navigating breakout-prone skin.
Key Benefits
Targets Acne-Causing Bacteria Salicylic acid and totarol work together to fight P. acnes bacteria at the surface while penetrating into pores to clear congestion before it becomes a visible blemish.
Calms and Soothes Active Breakouts Green tea leaf extract and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) deliver antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support directly to irritated skin, helping reduce redness around active blemishes.
Supports Skin Healing Allantoin and panthenol accelerate the skin's natural recovery process, helping blemishes resolve faster and leaving skin looking more even as breakouts clear.
Balances Without Stripping Niacinamide and witch hazel water work together to manage excess oil and visible pores while maintaining the skin's moisture balance, so skin stays clear without feeling tight or dry.
Reinforces Skin While It Clears Hydrolyzed yeast protein, biotin, pyridoxine HCl, and threonine provide the skin with amino acids and B-vitamins that support barrier integrity, keeping skin resilient throughout the clearing process.

If your skin breaks out regularly or you're dealing with teen acne, this serum was built for your routine. It's strong enough to address active blemishes but gentle enough to use twice daily without triggering dryness or peeling, which makes it a realistic option even for skin that has struggled to tolerate traditional acne treatments.
It also works well for adults who experience occasional breakouts rather than chronic acne. Whether you apply it all over or use it as a targeted spot treatment, it fits easily into an existing routine without requiring a complete overhaul.
Sensitive skin types can use this serum too, though mixing it with a moisturizer before applying is often the more comfortable approach. If you're unsure how your skin will respond, our estheticians can help you build a protocol around it.
-
If your skin runs sensitive, try blending a pump of this serum directly into your moisturizer before applying rather than layering it on bare skin. You get the full clarifying benefit with a lower chance of any tightness or irritation, and it's an easy way to build tolerance before transitioning to direct application.

What does salicylic acid do in the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that is oil-soluble, meaning it can penetrate into the pore lining to dissolve the debris and excess sebum that lead to clogged pores and breakouts. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and redness around active blemishes. In this serum, it works alongside totarol and witch hazel water to create a multi-angle approach to clearing acne-prone skin.
What is totarol and why is it in the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum?
Totarol is a naturally derived antibacterial compound extracted from the heartwood of the Totara tree. It has demonstrated strong activity against P. acnes bacteria, the primary bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne, and offers antioxidant properties as well. Pairing totarol with salicylic acid gives this serum both exfoliating and antibacterial action, addressing breakouts from two distinct pathways.
Can the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum be used twice a day?
Yes, the formula is designed for twice-daily use, morning and evening. The inclusion of skin-supportive ingredients like panthenol, allantoin, niacinamide, and hydrolyzed yeast protein helps maintain the skin's barrier even with consistent use. Most skin types tolerate daily application well, though sensitive skin types may want to start with once-daily use or mix it into a moisturizer before applying.
Is the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum for spot treatment or full-face use?
It can be used both ways. Apply 1-2 pumps across the entire face if you experience widespread breakouts or use it as a targeted spot treatment on individual blemishes. The versatility makes it practical for skin that breaks out unevenly or seasonally, without committing to a full-face treatment every day if that is not needed.
What role does niacinamide play in the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum?
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that helps regulate sebum production, reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, and calm inflammation in acne-prone skin. It also supports the skin's barrier function, which is especially useful in an acne serum because many clearing ingredients can compromise barrier integrity with repeated use. Here, niacinamide helps the skin stay balanced and resilient while other actives do the clearing work.
Does the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum contain any fragrance?
The serum contains essential oils including lemon peel oil, eucalyptus leaf oil, and tea tree leaf oil, which contribute a clean, herbal scent. These are not added as synthetic fragrance but are functional ingredients with known antibacterial and soothing properties. If your skin is reactive to essential oils, this is worth noting before you begin using it. A patch test or diluting it into a moisturizer first can help you assess how your skin responds.
Can the Rhonda Allison Blemish Serum be layered with other skincare products?
Yes. After applying the serum and allowing it to absorb briefly, you can layer a moisturizer or SPF on top. Some clients find it helpful to mix a pump directly into a moisturizer, particularly if their skin is on the sensitive side. Avoid layering it with other strong actives like high-strength retinol or additional BHA exfoliants in the same step without guidance, as that can increase the likelihood of irritation.

I used Rhonda Allison for years and it is a solid line but some of their products contain too many essential oils which O don’t find necessary in skincare and can be bothersome. I have ventured onto other aesthetic brands and my skin is no longer problematic. Most of their products are more affordable and pretty effective so it’s definitely a good line to start with due to their smaller sizes and prices. I’m happy to see AOS added more than Face Reality to their HSA eligibility because FR was a total waste of time and money for my kids and I. This serum actually helps my pre teens breakouts so I will now be able to use HSA for a better product line.

This works better than anything I've ever found for blemish treatment. Does not dry out skin and reduces blemished quickly. Highly recommend!

The Quicker Blemish Picker-Upper
This is the best spot treatment on market! It puts a halt on inflammation without over-drying the skin. A lot of times products like these either don't absorb well, or overdry the area making the inflammation worse. This serum addresses the root of the blemish, as opposed to simply throwing astringent at it.
Rhonda Allison has some amazing products!

Best Blemish Control Serum I have tried
This is one of the only blemish serums that does not dry out my skin. I have significantly noticed a huge difference in inflamed acne. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a gentler way to control their acne.
