Each January, my clients know what to expect — I share my personal skincare routine. It’s something I look forward to every year because my skin, like all of ours, continues to change.
As I step into my 63rd year, my relationship with my skin has become more intentional than ever. Menopause changes everything — hormones, hydration, barrier function, and especially skin sensitivity. What once felt resilient can suddenly become reactive, dry, or inflamed.
This doesn’t mean your skin is failing.
It means it’s asking for a different kind of care.
Post-menopausal skin isn’t problem skin.
It’s skin that needs support, comfort, and consistency.
Why Skin Becomes More Sensitive After Menopause
After menopause, estrogen levels decline significantly. Estrogen plays a critical role in maintaining skin thickness, oil production, moisture retention, and barrier strength.
When estrogen drops, the skin barrier weakens. This can lead to:
Increased dryness and dehydration
Redness, irritation, or stinging
Slower healing and recovery
Sensitivity to products you once tolerated
For me, this meant stepping away from aggressive treatments and focusing on barrier repair and skin resilience instead.
My Philosophy for Post-Menopausal Sensitive Skin
At this stage, my skincare routine is built around three priorities:
Strengthening the skin barrier
Deep hydration without irritation
Supporting repair and cellular communication
When these needs are met, skin becomes calmer, more resilient, and more radiant — even without doing “more.”
My Morning Skincare Routine for Sensitive, Mature Skin
Morning skincare is about gentle cleansing, hydration, and protecting the skin barrier — especially for sensitive skin after menopause.
Hydrinity Prelude Facial Treatment Cleanser
I start every morning with this cleanser because it cleans thoroughly without stripping the skin. It keeps my barrier intact and leaves my skin soft, calm, and comfortable.
Hydrinity Restorative HA Seum
Post-menopausal skin struggles to hold water, and this delivers deep hydration while supporting barrier repair. My skin immediately feels soothed and balanced.
Emepelle Serum
Designed specifically for estrogen-deficient skin, Emepelle supports cell signaling and skin density during and after menopause. I love that it works with the skin’s natural estrogen receptors to improve firmness, elasticity, and overall skin vitality—without hormones. This is foundational care for mature skin that wants to stay strong and responsive. It provides all the essentials: MEP, Vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and peptides.
Hydrinity Hydri-C Daily Moisturizer
Vitamin C can be challenging for sensitive skin, but this cream offers antioxidant protection and brightness without irritation. It helps defend against environmental stress while maintaining skin balance.
Hydrinity Eye Renew Complex
The eye area is often the most delicate post-menopause. This keeps my under-eyes hydrated, smooth, and calm without heaviness or reactivity. I love that at after noon my eyes are still moist and dewy without feeling greasy!
Epicutis Lipid Shield SPF
This is one of my favorite steps. It’s incredibly calming and cushiony — exactly what sensitive skin needs. Beyond sun protection, it reinforces the skin barrier and keeps my skin comfortable throughout the day.
My Evening Skincare Routine: Repair and Restore
Evening skincare is when I prioritize repair, recovery, and keeping my skin calm—especially with post-menopausal sensitivity in mind. This is when my regenerative serums truly come into play. Throughout the year, I rely on NeoGenesis Recovery Serum and Plated Intense Serum, sometimes using them on their own, and often layering them to support optimal skin renewal.
Epicutis Cleansing Essentials Set
I begin with this cleansing duo every night. I love the oil cleanser for removing makeup and sunscreen without disrupting my barrier. Three times per week, I add the enzyme exfoliant to gently smooth and soften my skin without triggering sensitivity.
NeoGenesis Recovery Serum
This is my foundational recovery serum at night. It supports healthy cellular regeneration and accelerates skin repair, helping strengthen compromised skin, calm sensitivity, and restore resilience when the skin barrier needs extra support.
(Plated) Skin Science Eye Serum
I apply this next to support the delicate eye area while my skin is in repair mode. It helps improve the look of fine lines while staying gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Barrier repair is non-negotiable at this stage. This serum replenishes essential lipids, calms inflammation, and helps my skin stay balanced and resilient.
Alternating Night Creams
I alternate based on how my skin feels:
Emepelle Night Cream when my skin needs gentle retinol correction and menopausal support
Epicutis Hyvia when hydration and barrier reinforcement are the priority
Post-menopausal skin isn’t static, and neither should your routine be.

Bonus: The One Product I Can’t Be Without
Hydrinity Luxe Lip Hydrator
Post-menopause, I noticed my lips aging faster than the rest of my face — thinner, drier, and lacking plumpness. Aging lips after menopause can lose moisture quickly, and no traditional lip balm was giving me lasting comfort.
Within three weeks of using Hydrinity Luxe Lip Hydrator, my lips looked and felt dramatically improved. They were softer, smoother, and visibly fuller — making it one of the best lip hydrators I’ve found for dry, aging lips.
It’s a small step, but for post-menopausal skin — even the lips — hydration and barrier support make all the difference.
Aging Gracefully with Sensitive Skin
At this stage, skincare isn’t about fighting age.
It’s about listening to your skin.
When we prioritize barrier health, hydration, and calm, sensitive post-menopausal skin can feel strong, radiant, and comfortable again.
Aging gracefully doesn’t mean doing more.
It means doing what truly supports your skin.
