I have been an esthetician for over 20 years. I have helped thousands of clients navigate sensitive skin, reactive skin, aging skin, and everything in between. And for the past year, I was quietly struggling with my own.
My skin had become highly sensitized. I was also healing from a blepharoplasty, which meant my skin barrier was under real stress and needed every advantage it could get. I was using products I believed in deeply, including Epicutis and Hydrinity, both beautiful lines that did not aggravate my skin. But I kept feeling like we were managing symptoms rather than getting to the root of the sensitivity. Something was missing.
Then I discovered Senté and learned about Heparan Sulfate Analog, or HSA. It completely shifted how I was thinking about my skin.
Why HSA Changed Everything
HSA is a molecule our skin naturally produces, but it declines significantly with age. Without it, regenerative signals cannot attach or be delivered properly, which means collagen production and cellular repair do not get triggered the way they should. So even when you are using excellent products, if your HSA is depleted, your skin simply cannot fully heal or return to its normal, non-reactive state. The ingredients cannot find their targets.
Adding HSA back through Senté has allowed my skin to rebuild what I think of as its healing environment. It functions like a docking station, binding growth factors, exosomes, and other reparative ingredients and guiding them to the cells that need repair.
That is a fundamentally different approach than what most of us were taught: treating wrinkles, or dark spots, or sensitivity as separate symptoms to address one at a time. Regenerative skincare works at a much deeper and more holistic level. And after three months on this routine, my skin is the most settled, resilient, and genuinely healthy it has felt in years.
If you want to go deeper on the science behind this, I wrote about it here: Why Your Skin's Environment Determines How Well Regenerative Skincare Works.
My Current Routine
Fair warning: typical for me, the morning has quite a few steps. The evening I keep pretty simple.
Morning Routine
Pre-Treat (Weekdays)
Senté Cysteamine HSA Pigment and Tone Correcting Mask
Applied on dry, unwashed skin. I do this on weekdays only.
Cleanse
Senté Soothing Cleanser on the eye area
Senté Exfoliating Cleanser on the face, neck, and décolleté
Growth Factor Serum
1 pump NeoGenesis Recovery Serum Spray mixed with 1 pump NeoGenesis Booster Serum
I mix these together and apply to my entire face and eyelids. The Recovery Serum supports post-procedure healing and advanced aging; the Booster Serum targets redness and helps calm reactive skin.
Hydrating Serum
LED Therapy
16 minutes under my LightStim Elipsa while I meditate
This is one of my favorite parts of the morning. The combination of light therapy and stillness sets the tone for the entire day.
Firming Serum
Antioxidant
Face Moisturizer
Applied to the face and along the orbital bone around the eyes.
Neck Moisturizer
Eye Care
SPF
Skinbetter sunbetter TONE SMART SPF 75 Sunscreen Lotion mixed with Colorescience Sunfoegettable Total Protection Face Shield Glow SPF50
This combination gives my skin the most incredible glow that lasts all day. I love it.
Finish
A generous spritz of Epicutis Hydrobiome Mist
Evening Routine
Cleanse
Growth Factor Serum
1 pump NeoGenesis Recovery Serum Spray mixed with 1 pump NeoGenesis Booster Serum
Same application as the morning: entire face and eyelids.
Hydrating Serum
Corrective Serum
Moisturizer
Eye Care
A Note on Where to Start
If you look at this routine and feel a little overwhelmed, I understand completely. This is the result of 20 years of learning, a lot of trial and error, and a very specific skin situation I was working through. You do not need to do all of this to see results.
If I had to point you toward a single place to begin with Senté, I would start with the Dermal Repair Cream and the Bio Complete Serum. Let your skin settle into the HSA environment first, and build from there.
As always, we are here to help you figure out what makes sense for your skin specifically. If you would like usto talk through any of this, start a complimentary consultation and we can work through it together.
